What is the "Board," when does it meet, and who can come?
The Executive Board is the group of people who run the PTA. They hold monthly Executive Board meetings in the school library.
Association meetings are held three times a year (September, February, April) in the MPR or library and everyone is invited to attend these meetings.

Where does all the money go?
The money is used to purchase items for our school, to pay for improvements (like the murals), and to provide activities such as family art night, family science night, running club, variety show and more!
How do I find out about each event?
First of all, check the school Calendar. We try very hard to get our dates firmed up by beginning of September. Second, double check against our weekly "Otter Up" newsletter. It's emailed out every Sunday, and can also be accessed via the school homepage. Third, Peachjar, our electronic communication system (link located on the school home page). Lastly, social media! All events are shared on our Facebook, Shoal Creek Elementary PTA, and on Instagram @shoalcreek.pta.

How do I get involved?
That is the EASIEST question of all! Do not sit at home and wait to be asked. Do not roam around school wondering who everyone is. Do not sit on the sidelines and wish you could get to know more people. Pick up the phone TODAY and call our volunteer coordinator or the person overseeing the area in which you'd like to volunteer or contact the PTA Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]. We would LOVE to have you work with us. We have big jobs, little jobs, easy jobs, quiet jobs, FUN jobs--CALL!
Why do we have fundraisers? Why are our kids selling? Why can't I just make a flat donation?
This year we have some fundraisers planned. If you do not want to participate in them, feel free to decline. Remember, YOU decide if your kids will participate. If you would rather make a flat donation to the PTA and not participate, merely send in a check made out to "Shoal Creek PTA" in an envelope which says "PTA donation" and that's that! The bottom line is that the money we raise really has benefited our school tremendously.
How can I provide input?
If you have great ideas about our Programs or PTA in general, you may contact the PTA President Jenny Basinger at: [email protected] or you may drop them by the PTA box in the office. We would WELCOME all wonderful new ideas!
